The Governing Body of the academy has a range of key responsibilities:
- Strategic direction – setting the aims and objectives for the school and agreeing the school improvement strategy
- Holding the Headteacher to account for educational performance
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school
On a practical level this means that we are responsible for many tasks such as looking at the budget, appointing senior staff within the school and evaluating how well initiatives to improve learning in school are working.
